Mock Meet Tonight!
Hey Barracudas!!
We had an AMAZING turn out at the team picture last night! Thank you for your attendance and patience! Tonight, we will have a mock meet to get times for swimmers in each event. Please see below for some important information!
Mock Meet:
Who: All Barracudas who can swim a full lap without stopping. Please see the heat sheet for details on events.
What to expect: This meet is a practice meet. It is for swimmers and parents to get the feel of a meet before we start competing against other teams. It is ok if your kid is not the best at a stroke or if they are nervous to do it! Remind them that it is for practice and for fun! Almost everyone is entered in all 4 strokes. Starting next week, swimmers will only swim a maximum of 3 individual events and possibly 2 relays, and we are looking to see how much they can improve and grow from this meet to the end of the season.
What to Bring: Team suit or your best suit! (These should be tight, not baggy.) Team cap, team shirt, goggles, towels (bring at least one to sit on and one-two to dry off with), water bottles, sharpies, sunscreen, chairs for parents.
When: Please arrive by 5:00pm. We will begin our warmups at 5:15pm and start the meet by 6:00pm. We are expected to be done between 8:00-8:30pm.
Where: This meet is at Berkeley Hills! Swimmers will sit by the wall near the baby pool. There will be tents for each age group to sit under. Please know that the baby pool is closed. Swimmers/siblings/etc cannot play in this pool during the meet.
Why: It is all for practice and for fun!!! Remember, the coaches are still learning your swimmers and what things we need to focus on for next week! Show us what you can do! Parents, this is also a great opportunity for practice running the volunteer positions! Thank you in advance for your help!
Please see the attached documents for the heat sheet and the list of events by athlete. We will not be printing these, so please print your own if you want a paper copy. You should also be able to see this on the SwimTopia app! Many parents like to write the event, heat, lane on the swimmers arm and the swimmers name/age on their shoulder to help with staging. If you need help or don't understand what this means, the coaches will help with this tonight too! :)
Please let us know if you need anything!! Also as we get closer to the meet, texts/calls are typically quicker than email, so please don't hesitate to reach out!
GO BARRACUDAS!!!!
